This document is the result of a collaborative and voluntary effort across the marine debris community in the Gulf of America. Actions will be carried out by interested partner organizations and participation in this plan does not constitute an endorsement of or commitment by all stakeholders or the NOAA Marine Debris Program.

NOAA’s Marine Debris Program worked with the Gulf of America Alliance (GOAA) to develop and implement a Regional Action Plan to address Marine Debris (pg. 43) in the Gulf of America. Through public-private partnerships, GOAA has established Gulf Star, which provides competitive funding each year to support projects to accomplish the goals laid out in the action plan.
